With so many printers on the market, it’s important to examine each type of printer thoroughly to know which one is most beneficial for you. 

The price of the Bibo 3D Printer is built for hobbyists, but its pricing is above entry level, and below professional printer prices. 

Fortunately, the Bibo 3D printer offsets its price increase with exceptional print quality. But, it’s up to the buyer whether the price is worth it or not. This is why I’m going in-depth on this Bibo 3D printer review to help you know what to expect.

A lesser-known company named Bibo launched the Bibo 3D printer around 2016 by university graduates. The creation originated in China and their focus is precision and efficiency.

This printer gave a great first impression on the 3D printing community upon its release. The Bibo 3D is a fused deposition modeling (FDM) printer which uses filaments. 

The filament material melts and drops layer by layer to create print jobs. FDM printers are used a lot because of its low cost and usability.

Breakdown Of The Bibo 3D Printer

Print Quality

The print quality of the Bibo 3D is precise and smooth. The extruders perform amazingly, and the flow is consistent. The second extruder facilitates the printer in being able to print quickly for those who like speedy procedures. 

Another thing this printer has going for it is it’s one of the most durable 3D printers on the block, here are some qualities to make it last.

Some of those qualities include a sturdy frame and a removable enclosed cover. Bibo building for stabililty and enclosure makes sure the models print on a safe surface.

There are a lot of factors to good print quality, and having the build foundation right is one of them.

Set Up

You need to set up about 15% of the printer, which isn’t difficult. The assembly includes installing the extruders and filament guide tubes, and this is easy assuming you follow the instruction manual. 

Many different types of slicing software will work (Cura, Simplify3D, Repetier-Host) when it comes to installing software. Bibo allows you to pick the application that you prefer to work with, which is extremely convenient! If not, this would definitely be a negative for me. I have a bad relationship with proprietary software.

After assembly and software set up, you’re ready to print. 


One of the Bibo 3D printer’s best features is filament versatility, meaning it can use a variety of plastics. Some of the filaments that can be used are PLA, ABS, HIPS, PVA, nylons, woods, TPU, and many more. 

The filament diameter rounds out to 0.07 inches while the nozzle diameter is 0.02 inches, and the minimum layer thickness is 0.001 in. The layer thickness is a big reason why it’s great with precision. The smaller the layers get, the finer the details are.

The printer can also continue printing through a power cut, and detect when filament runs out. Unfortunately, the printer does not have automatic calibration, but it has the ability to print multiple colors using dual extruders.

The printer also features a heated print bed, dual cooling fans, touchscreen, laser engraving, USB connections, copy printing, wi-fi control, an on-board camera, and more. 


The dimensions of the printer are 21.34 x 19.92 x 17.09 inches and it weighs approximately 40 lbs. The Bibo 3D design includes an enclosed printing chamber and a removable glass bed. The sturdy frame also has a two-tone color pattern.

One problem I have with the design is the user interface. It’s not elegant or responsive. It needs an update, but it makes sense since this was released in 2016.

Alternatives To The Bibo

Creality CR-10

Creality CR-10 is another printer under $1,000. It is extremely easy to troubleshoot and easy to assemble with few parts. It is great with detail and making large prints. 

The Creality CR-10 also has a removable glass print bed and has desirable value for the price. Other printers started to reproduce the distinctive style of the CR-10, such as the colored stripes. 

The Creality CR-10 is a slightly bigger, but lighter printer than the Bibo 3D printer. It is probably the best alternative of those mentioned because it’s affordable with a variety of features.

Flashforge Creator Pro

This 3D printer is very similar to the Bibo 3D printer as far as design (enclosed build) and features. It comes fully assembled and is fit for large prints. 

The Flashforge Creator Pro to me is an average printer within the same price range as the Bibo. Its print quality is alright from the models I’ve seen, and sometimes, it comes with blemishes like overhangs for more complex designs.

A positive for this printer is its customer support. Since set up is relatively harder compared to the Bibo, there’s a good chance you’ll need support.

Fortunately, Flashforge’s customer support is easy to contact. Once you’re in contact with them, they give you quality responses as well. For customer support, there’s not much more you can ask for than this.


ELEGOO Mars 2 Pro

This ELEGOO printer is a resin 3D printer. While resin material helps build quality models, it limits the type of filament you can use. 

The printing technology used is UV light emission. What enables improved precision is the monochrome LCD. Not only does this improve precision, but it solidifies resin faster. The printer can stack layers on top of each other in seconds and solidify it to minimize blemishes.

The ELEGOO also contains an acrylic hood which encloses the models that are printing. It also has a USB port for downloading models. A big part of its design is its higher resolution screen. 

I gave it a negative for durability because you can easily scratch the LCD screen. The hood is also flimsy which makes me wary of longevity.

Overall though, I’d recommend this for people wanting to make quality prints.

Should You Get The Bibo?

When buying anything, it’s important to look for your needs and preferences. It only makes sense to buy a printer within your price range. The Bibo 3D printer is among the average quality printers. 

For the price range, the Bibo 3D is quick and generally accurate. I personally would purchase the Bibo 3D printer for the small things I do here and there. It’s a phenomenal printer for beginners, and a good printer for consistent users.

The Bibo 3D printer would be good for anyone that wants a printer for personal use. Professional users should look for other printers if they want even more intricate detail.
